Eh - its open on sundays i think so that may have been why i went here. my roommate wanted to go here because there is parking conveniently in front and right next to the Teriyaki Time shop. I personally will never go back, the bimbimpbop was so mediocre ( especially if you have had it other places in town like Rich JC ... THE BEST IS HERE. We sat in this sketchy back room, and we had to go up and pick up our food from the window ... being the only people in the shop, the least they could do was bring our food to our table. Cheap eats, for a cheap experience

Nothing terrible, nothing spectacular. I had originally gone down to Kerrytown to eat at a different location but upon finding they were closed, I decided to try Teriyaki Time. The location is ideal for good foot traffic but inside, the atmosphere was very disappointing. The floors, tables, and counters were very dirty and needed desperately to be cleaned. Tables could hold no more than 2 people and the lack of windows made for a cramped feeling. Maybe it'd be a better food experience if we took ours to-go. But, the food was decent and the service was good. I had a chicken teriyaki bowl and for the time that it took them to prepare the food, you could tell the chicken was pre-cooked. While it wasn't chewy or depressing, it wasn't hot or very juicy either. The teriyaki sauce on it was pretty standard and flavorful but the vegetables included were very thinly sliced (almost seemed pre-mixed/packaged) and there wasn't a very good portion of them. The dish consisted of mainly a thin piece of chicken breast and rice. My guest got a hot bowl and needless to say it kept the meal very hot the entire time but again, the bowl lacked significant flavor, the fried egg was overdone, and the meat was lackluster. The service was good but again, the food was "eh" and it was nothing that stuck out in my mind or begged me to go back.

Decent cheap food. Udon is A-OK. Bibimbop was pretty bad though. Although maybe I was just unlucky. Owner is EXTREMELY unfriendly. It may not be in his nature, but if he worked a bit more on his American smile, he might get a bit more business. (Although judging from his attitude, it is quite possible that he doesn't give a f*ck about how much business he gets.)

Little 'mom and pop' shop here, just without the "mom" component here (at least when I visited at around 8pm). It's just your little independent sushi business laying around Kerrytown. Ordered spicy tuna rolls, spicy California rolls, and the bi bim bap. The rolls were actually spicy, the rice:fish ratio was great, but the problem was the fish was definitely not fresh. But I might be holding the standard of fresh fish too high for a mom & pop shop of Ann Arbor. Anyway the rolls were like $5 each, which seemed very reasonable. You get 6 pieces each. The bi bim bap was okay. I was happy with the beef since it was marinated and cooked very well, but the rest of it seemed to just be veggies tossed on top of rice. It's like they got a salad mix at Costco and dumped it in together to call it bi bim bap. Lunch hour specials seem very reasonable. I think for sushi, I may try this again, but Sushi Town might be better for me. Lastly, I must note this place does NOT have any eel for their sushi! :(

If there is an option for a zero star, i would give it to this place. Probably one of the worse Asian teriyaki place I've ever gone to. The food taste good like an average teriyaki, but the service and the atmosphere there is just a bad bad vibe all in all. As my buddy and I walked into the parking lot, we should have just turn around and walk away. There are about ten tables on the outside with about another ten ish in the inside. None were with a customer. I mean it is after lunch time so its understandable and we gave it a shot. Right when we walked into the restaurant the owner with his lunch walked out to one of the table. He looked at us with a hesitation face of "what does this two want?" As he walked behind the counter he stare at me and was expecting me to give him an order. What kind of attitude is that? Can i just take a look at what is on the menu? I gave to my buddy a hint that he can go first. Two seconds after he paid for his food. The owner literally looked at me and ask "what do you want?" Effing bad customer service PERIOD! When we got our food, it was in small portion almost like a kids meal from where we came from. Then once we were finish with our food and was going to head out. The wife the nicer of the two ask us politely to clean up the table, throw away our trash and put the dishes around the trash area inside the restaurant. WTF was screaming in my head. I've never been to a restaurant where I have to bring my food to the table and clean my table afterward. Mine as well make it a fast food joint. The first thing I did right when I got home was made an account with Yelp to write this review. All in all I would give this place a zero and should close down or have better customer service.

These teriyaki places are a staple of the Seattle area (in fact, the owners of Teriyaki Time are from Seattle and claim to have started the trend). TT provides quality, basic teriyaki and korean cuisine (though I recommend University Cafe for the latter) at good prices, especially for Kerrytown. The rice is always fresh and the meats always cooked well. The spicy and sweet sauces can be a bit cloying, but the meat is always broiled well. The shrimp tempura was a surprise, with a perfect thin crisp batter and savory shrimp inside, comparable to that at more expensive places. Great deal, fast service and tasty food in a cuisine so often overpriced.

I can't believe this is the first time I've been to this place! I'm so glad I stopped in! I order the tofu teriyaki - and it was delicious! My order came up fast and hot. The staff were incredibly friendly and warm. There is a sense of family when you're in this place. They really do make you feel like you're taken care of. The only reason it's not a 5 star review is because I think the decor/ambiance inside could use a little improvement so it's more inviting to dine in. With that said, it still is amazing how they're converted the old gas station building into a restaurant with dining space! I'm excited to go back and try some of the other dishes!

One of my favorite restaurants/diners in Ann arbor and some of the best Korean I've ever eaten. The Dol Sot Bi Bim Bap, served in a piping hot stone bowl, is awesome and for downtown Ann Arbor is very moderately priced. I also like that they have two sauces to accompany the Bi Bim Bap, a sweet and a spicy red sauce, both of which are tasty. I like the combo meals as well which include miso soup, two differently prepared meats, rice, and different sides depending on the meal. The teriyaki dishes are good as well. The sushi is mediocre but ultimately the Korean food is where this place shines. I lived down the street from this place my senior year of college and used to frequent it quite often. The service was great and the owner (also named Eric haha) was very friendly and even starting occasionally offering me free menu items after regularly eating there for about a year. Nice people and good food. What more can you ask for? note: Teriyaki Time is not a sit-down restaurant with waiter service. Its fast-casual like Chipotle or Cosi where you order, pay, and then pick up your food and sit down.

Simple Korean and Japanese cuisine. I give 4 stars because they're kalbi (i'm half korean) is actually better (smokier, better cut of meat) than many korean restaurants in A2 (like university cafe, maru, kangs). My wife loves the spicy teriyaki. It's obviously Korean family owned and they are very, very friendly. Some interesting appetizers too.

Good cheap eats right near the campus. Excellent price. Teriyaki is really good. They also sell Bi Bim Bop. They just opened up recently. Mostly for take-outs but they have some limited seating available. More seating area would be nice.

The menu is expansive for a carry out location. We had chicken fried rice, and bulgogi beef. Both were freshly made as we had to wait for the food to be cooked. They brought it outside to us on trays and offered 3 or 4 different sauces to go with them. If we are in the area we would return and certainly strongly suggest it over the super overpriced Zingerman's Deli which is right down the street. Next time we are here we would order sushi to share. This time my table mates were not sushi fans.

I was really disappointed in this place. There's many other good Asian spots around, to say nothing of better Korean spots. The bi bim bop was very mediocre. I wouldn't return here again.

This place is gross! Don't come here, seriously don't. The food is just not very good. Sat down to eat with some friends and easily ate one of the worst meals of my life. I've had really good teriyaki, and this is not it. The chicken was dry, over cooked, and horrible to eat. The rice was old, and the salad was bad, mmkay.

I can't tell you how many times I have come to the Ann Arbor Farmers Market, looked at this place, and walked on by. Well not anymore. Teriyaki Time lives up to it's name as that's pretty much all they have. Everything I've tried comes coated in this homemade, perfectly flavored sauce that is exactly what you're looking for when going for that type of taste. Their beef and chicken is perfectly tender and juicy each time, and they have a great sticky rice and ginger salad that goes along perfectly with the teriyaki choices. The interior atmosphere needs work, although I was informed it was painted maize and blue a couple of years ago. It really doesn't matter though. I highly recommend this place. I can now safely say it's Teriyaki Time about twice a week.

This is a "go-to" place for take out dinner for my family. The spicy chicken teriyaki is outstanding. Shrimp tempura roll is sometimes excellent, sometimes ok. Raymun noodles are a personal favorite during the winter. Friendly people and very fast service.

I had a bento box here and ate it in my car. There was a nice sampling of the menu in it and everything was good. The prices were low and I went back a week later to try some fried rice, equally good. This gets 4 stars from me because it is good quality for what it is; an Asian food stand, an it's not fair to compare it to anything other than that. It isn't marks carts by any means, but if you're around Kerry Town and craving some east world flavors, this is a safe bet.

Well sadly I'm taking away some stars in this review update, because the last couple times I'm been here it has been sub-par. Salty, low quality chicken and extremely greasy tempura :( But I will go back again to see if it improves to what it was the first few times I went. Truly their teriyaki sauce is great though!!!

I drive by Teriyaki Time on a regular basis... I always tell myself that I have to give the place a try.... I'm a fan of hole in the wall type of restaurants, as long as they are good... I had to give Teriyaki Times two stars... Met up with a friend for lunch and we walked in. My friend has been here before, so his an expert... whereas this was my first time and I wasn't sure what I wanted to eat... so after a quick check of the menu, I decided to try the Korean dishes. So my order was: - Dol Sot BiBimBap ($7.95) - BiBimBap Roll ($7.95) - Fountain drink ($1.50) My friend ordered Chicken Teriyaki bowl with extra order of fried Tofu, this was like $7.50. We got the BiBimBap Roll first. As the name states, it's a California roll with BiBimBap stuff in the middle, cut into 10 pieces and topped with fried crunch and hot sauce across the roll. Each roll is huge... just eating the roll will fill you up. The roll is stuffed with carrots, bean sprouts, kimchi, raw spinach, egg, and cucumber. The taste was little blend, so I ended adding more of the spice on the roll, which make it taste better. The Dol Dot BiBimBap was okay. I definitely had it better. The rice is topped with bean sprouts, carrots, sliced cucumber, spinach, kimchi and fried egg. The vegetables were all raw. The hot sauce came in a little clear container. Just like the rolls, it was blend, had no taste. The bowl was hot, so the rice was became very crunchy... and I had to admit, it was way too crunchy... The BiBimBap came with Miso soup, which was okay. They brought Kimchi and I have to rate this kimchi at 1.5 stars... the kimchi you buy from Meijer tasted better! I sampled my friends teriyaki chicken bowl with tofu. It was good... I think I'll stick to Teriyaki items next time I go... yes, I'll go back and try the teriyaki items and see how they compare to other places. This place is indeed very small... there's some seating area the left of the cashier and more to the right. If you go to the right of the cashier, there's where the fountain drink machine, tea and cup's are located. Limited seating, if you the weather is nice, try seating outside.

Man, I used to always walk past this place for No Thai, but not anymore! The Spicy Teriyaki Chicken was excellent! Good portion sizes and good price. Plus, the older man who runs the register is epic and very friendly.

I had the tempura coconut shrimp. The breading was sweet and tasty. With all due respect to the staff, I thought this place was lackluster and wouldn't go back. Parking is City of Ann Arbor paid/metered street parking. Restroom was dirty. The restaurant's outdoor trash receptacle was very dirty and smelled bad. If you're able bodied, access is okay. Wheelchair access needs work.

Affordable & good! The restaurant itself need some more improvement but you can't beat the price! One of my regular restaurant, I eat here for at least once a week, their pork teriyaki is awesome!

For $6 plus tax total, my California and avocado rolls were what I expected - a little puny, but tasted fine. You might be able to spell that crab with a "k". Still, I was happy to find a cheap, fast and light lunch during a crazy busy workday in chi-chi Kerrytown. I noticed that they offer a special $5 tax inclusive menu exclusively for Community High School students. Brilliant! Now I know why TT has managed to stay in business inside this historically struggling storefront. The space is cozy and a little grimy, but again, I totally groove on that change of pace in this yuppified neighborhood. The man who took my order also made my rolls and he was polite and fast. I wish they gave out tubs of soy sauce instead of packets - how am I supposed to concoct my soy-wasabi sludge without a proper vessel? Then again, I realize that sushi is not their specialty (they offer only five or six choices). I look forward to trying the meat and rice bowls. I have a feeling there might be another star in the stars for Teriyaki Time.

Growing up on the East Coast, there was a Teriyaki place at my local mall with delicious, fast food. A huge plate of surprisingly high-quality meat, rice and salad was available for rock-bottom prices. As I still drop in at Teriyaki Boy every time I visit my parents, I was hoping I could duplicate or at least approach the experience at this place. Unfortunately it was not at all what I expected. First of all, the restaurant itself is beyond small. It probably would have been a better idea for us to get takeout, because we decided to eat in and on top of being tiny, the atmosphere was not all that comfortable as the server spent most of the time kind of standing there, staring at us. The food itself was acceptable, a little sweet for my tastes but not bad. Unfortunately my impression is that like many of the restaurants in the Ann Arbor area, you really do not get your money's worth here. It was quite expensive for what we got. I suppose that if you have the money to spend and are going to do takeout, it would probably be better than eating in the store.

I love this place! I usually order the Teriyaki Bowl (different from the Teriyaki dinner). Its a little smaller but a much better value. The veggies are always crispy and the meat is cooked under high heat (typical asian style) making it seared and also a little crispy. All of this crispiness is more than offset by their teriyaki sauce (which should be used in abundance). It is complex and with the right amount of zing. Their tofu is also interesting - silky soft, cubed and deep fried to perfection. I have also had their bi bim bop and I prefer it to the bi bim bop offered at other local Korean restaurants, especially when it arrives in a stone bowl. The heat makes the rice at the bottom all crispy (again that adjective) and delicious. I will say that the ambiance of the place sucks. It is small and frankly a little run down. I only order takeout or eat on the patio in the summer.

Teriyaki Time is right by my office, so I've been there far too often. The food is average. The service is generally slow. But it was still convenient, so I kept on buying their food. However, my last trip there I saw a worker pick up a plastic fork that had fallen on the ground and put it in with the rest of the forks to be put out in the dining room. And that officially ended my dining experiences at Teriykai Time.

Went here on a whim today while at the Farmer's Market, and was disappointed. We ordered a "create your own" bento box with salmon teriyaki, spicy tuna roll, veggie tempura, and seaweed salad. The salmon teriyaki was fine, but wasn't served with any rice. It was served on a bed of grilled onions, which were tasty, but I definitely would have appreciated some rice too. The veggie tempura was downright awful. It was a fried mass of veggies all stuck together into one giant ball. The batter was heavy and greasy, and no tempura dipping sauce was served. The spicy tuna roll and seaweed salad were acceptable. The portions provided for a taste of everything, but at $13, I expected more, even in a bento. I'm going to try this place again and just stick with a regular teriyaki meal, but the bento was such a disappointment.

Teriyaki Time is right in my neighborhood, so I'm there a lot. It's relatively cheap, and for about $7, I always order the tofu bi bim bop, which comes with a free side of miso soup. The bi bim bop is always hot, with fresh veggies and rice cooked to perfection. Compared to most take-out, it feels like I'm actually eating something healthy. The portion is generous and cooks up so fast that I've stopped ordering ahead--I just walk over and wait after I order. The family who runs the place seems really nice, although I was disappointed to see today that they won't be open on Sundays anymore due to religious observances. It's not a place you'd go to sit down, really, but definitely give their take out a try for lunch or dinner.

We stopped here for dinner one day when we were in town...we generally enjoy most Asian restaurants, but we were very disappointed in both the quality of the food and the cleanliness quotient here -- meh and "yuck," respectively. We expected something a little more impressive in Kerrytown, home of Zingerman's and the Farmers Market.

Eating here makes me happy because the service has been fast; the meat is always well-cooked; and I get extra goodies because I happen to know people who know the owners. I've never really been disappointed, but then again I've only ordered the teriyaki chicken. I can see why someone may not like the place. The door smacks you on the ass if you don't walk inside fast enough. The place is surprisingly small - beyond cozy - and a bit dirty. I have to say that my expectations have been and continue to be on the low side, because it just seems like a little hole where you I to get quick food. For that I've not been disappointed!

This place is not cheap. But cheap is exceedingly difficult to find in Ann Arbor, so you deal with what you're given. It is moderately priced. It isn't extremely authentic. It is tasty. Bottom line, moderately priced, decent variety, flavorful without being overly salty, fatty, or what have you. And as Sarah W. mentioned, dol sot bibimbop is cheaper than anywhere else I've seen it around here. That alone is reason enough to stop by.

It took me a long time to make myself go in here. Every time I drove by I would look at the name and set up and feel like it would be a waste of time to stop in. But I broke down with curiosity. It is a great snack place for Korean and Japanese food! You can buy little things such as skewers of any kind of meat, sushi rolls, tempura (deep fried). Even kim chee! Well they do have meals here also. But I like the appetizer aspect. Stone pot bi bim bop is only $7.95 here. That is really cheap compared to other places. Don't forget to check the website out. They have some really good coupons.
